About SPP

EVERYONE DESERVES A COMFORTABLE RETIREMENT

That’s the simple idea that the Saskatchewan Pension Plan was built upon. We’ve taken the simple idea that retirement is a right and not a privilege and nurtured it into a revolution. One dedicated to making retirement planning accessible to everyone.

That remains our goal to this day — to help people just like you save for your dream retirement. By investing conservatively and on your own schedule over the long term, SPP allows you to enjoy consistent growth — no investment experience required. You’ll have access to professional investment minds that have delivered impressive returns for SPP investors over time.

GOVERNANCE

SPP is totally funded by member contributions and investment earnings. It is administered by a Board of no less than three Trustees, at least one-third of which are Plan Members.

Our Board has developed an investment policy that establishes qualitative and quantitative limits for investment managers to follow. The Board monitors investment performance quarterly, reviews investment policy at least annually, and reports to the Legislature in an annual report. View annual reports

Since 1986, SPP has grown to the 21st largest defined contribution plan in Canada with over $800 million in assets and over 33,000 members.
