Setting up a Business Plan with SPP

Meet Gail Genest from SPP. She will help answer your questions about SPP's plan for businesses and get your company started. This decision will help your company become a preferred employer.

Meet Kathy Strutt from SPP. She will talk about how easy it is to implement a company pension plan with SPP.

Why choose SPP for your company?

  • No cost to join
  • No required payments – contribute when the timing is right for you and your employees
  • No business is too small or too large – not all employees must participate.
  • Employees can be added at no cost
  • Maximum contribution to each employee account is $2,500 per year
  • Contributions can be made by the business, the employees, or both
  • Tax deductible
  • SPP is locked in until age 55 following the initial six-month refund period. This ensures that that contributions made by the employer and the employee are used for retirement.
  • Employers are not responsible for contributions or investment advice
  • SPP is portable so when employees move away they can continue the pension plan you started for them.

Create the contribution option that works best for your business

  • No employer contribution – employer facilitates savings at no cost
  • Flexible matching options – split employer/employee contribution
  • Full contribution – employer contributions full amount per employer

As an employer offering a pension plan, you are assured that each time your employees receive a statement of their pension fund they will be reminded of how you’ve helped their future financial security and stability.
